Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon 2008

On 26 October 2008, we held our annual “Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon” in support of the international breast cancer awareness month. Over 400 participants gathered at the Peak Road Garden to walk for our cause along the Lugard Road, enjoying a meaningful and healthy morning. The funds raised will be allocated to support our work in public education, patient support service, the development of the first Hong Kong Breast Cancer Registry and our “Free Mammogram Service” to underprivileged women.

(From left) Ms. Bernice Liu, Ambassador of HKBCF; Dr. Andrew Luk, President of the event’s title sponsor, Ferrari Owner’s Club of Hong Kong; Dr. Polly Cheung, Founder of HKBCF; Dr. York Y. N. Chow, Secretary for Food and Health; and Mrs. Joanna Choi, Chairman of HKBCF, officiated the ceremony.
Bernice encouraged all women to be aware of their own breast health and do breast self-examination regularly.
